In a moment when hatred and fear are rising, the Open and Affirming Coalition of the United Church of Christ stands firm as a beacon of faithful resistance.

While some national LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations have withdrawn from entire regions, ONA churches remain—rooted in Christ’s inclusive love, committed to justice, and present where people need us most.

This year has stretched us. Our tiny staff—one full-time person and two very part-time employees—has carried a full and vital ministry: representing the Coalition at World Pride in Washington, D.C., hosting our National Gathering, supporting churches and conferences in their ONA journeys, and responding to the growing number of communities seeking guidance, training, and resources.

And the need continues to grow. White-supremacist (we refuse to call it Christian) nationalism is spreading. Too many churches are being twisted into tools of exclusion rather than transformation. The Coalition is determined to resist, to equip, and to expand our reach—but we cannot do it without partners.

That’s why we’re launching Faithful Resistance: The Sustainers Circle with a clear and bold goal:

To raise $2,000 per month in reliable, sustaining support.

And this goal is absolutely within reach.
If 20 people commit at $100 a month,
or 40 people give $50 a month,
or 100 people give $20 a month,
or even 400 people give $5 a month,
we will get there. Every sustaining gift—large or small—moves us closer.

As a thank-you, everyone who gives at least $20 a month will receive a free gift after three consecutive months of sustaining support.

This steady foundation will allow us to:

• Strengthen our national network and increase staff capacity
• Support churches committed to LGBTQ+ affirmation and justice
• Resource ministries where DEI funding has been slashed
• Ensure that ONA congregations continue to shine as places of hope, safety, and belonging
